Seeking a fresh start in a world scarred by a devastating war, wandering survivor Valerian arrives in the secluded waterside town of Dunwater to claim the abandoned estate of his late family. Instead, he finds a community suspicious of outsiders, a rifle-wielding heiress named Elandra, and a past neither of them can easily escape. When forced to hunt for the legendary treasure of Davey Jones, Valerian and Elandra are drawn into an uneasy alliance that carries them far from the safety of town and into forgotten lands, ancient ruins, pirate-infested waters, and legends that prove far more real than either expected.
